
Summary: Do you want an internship where you work hard and have fun with a team outside, everyday? The “Wilder Bunch” is a high school trail crew where you will learn skills in construction and trail building while riding bikes and having fun on the trails you build. The eight crew members will be split into two teams for the season. Four (4) interns will work on trail-related projects across Delta County, including trail construction in Hotchkiss, Delta, Cedaredge and Crawford. Four (4) interns will primarily work on the Paonia Riverfront Trail in Paonia.
Responsibilities: Crew members will gain outdoor leadership skills, confidence in outdoor sports and learn to push themselves physically while building the skills and fundamentals needed to construct hiking and biking trails. Each week, students will work on outdoor trail construction projects and have the opportunity to ride the trails they build! We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic team members who enjoy working hard. Experience with outdoor activities is helpful; but not required.
Qualifications: Current high school student (recent grads OK if under 18); transportation to/from work site required; experience with outdoor work (yard work, farm chores or carpentry); exact weekly schedule will be coordinated by trail crew lead at the beginning of the work season.
Location: 4 crew members in Paonia most of summer; 4 crew members on projects in Hotchkiss, Delta, Cedaredge and Crawford

Some flexibility in schedule possible
Paid internship: $300-$400/week stipend, depending on hours completed and prior experience. Free outdoor gear use during internship (SUP, mountain bikes, camping equipment.)
