
Summary: Are you excited about climbing and bouldering and want to share this passion with your community? The Climbing Instructor will be in charge of supporting our Community Climbing Program including summer climbing club at Cedaredge Middle School, community events at festivals and fairs around Delta County and summer camp as needed. This position will be mentored by our Climbing Program Manager and learn the basics of rock climbing, bouldering, climbing wall maintenance and safety to support our summer camps and at community events. This pathway is an excellent choice for students who are interested in a future jobs working at a climbing gym or guiding in the mountains.
Qualifications: Experience bouldering, rock climbing and belaying or willingness to learn; current high school student; has reliable transportation.
Location: The Nature Connection HQ in Hotchkiss, Cedaredge Middle School and other Delta County locations
Pathways Opportunity: 2 positions available; Applications due March 31st.
Commitments: May 30th through August 12th. Weekend work is required. Possibility to extend position part-time on weekends or evenings during the school year. Wilderness First Aid and outdoor safety training provided May 30th-June 2nd.
Paid Job: $13.65/hour. Free outdoor gear use during the summer (SUP, mountain bikes, camping equipment.)
