Mountain Bike Internship

Summary: Do you want to learn the essentials in how to maintain a functional MTB (mountain bike) and build technical job skills while interning at The Nature Connection headquarters? Interns will fix bike flats, inspect, clean and even help tune-up our fleet of bikes. But the joy of learning continues in the field at The Nature Connection’s summer camps! Interact with summer campers and The Nature Connection staff while building confidence in the world of bike maintenance and coaching. This is a great pathway to becoming a bike technician and instructor.


-Daily tasks include all things bikes, including cleaning, upkeep and fixing flat tires. Complete pre/post-program gear check-ins and keep equipment rooms well-organized

-Play a key role in helping coach and teach bike safety during The Nature Connection summer camps throughout the community

-Assist Summer Leads in equipment transport to and from program locations 

Internship Location: The Nature Connection Headquarters, 397 Bulldog St Hotchkiss

Pathways Opportunity: 2 available internships

Paid Internship: ~$250-$350 week stipend depending on experience and hours completed; 9 week internship from June 1st through mid-August. Free outdoor gear use during internship (SUP, mountain bikes, camping equipment.)

Qualifications: Enthusiasm to work on bikes; High school student (recent grads OK if under 18); reliable transportation to/from camp locations including Hotchkiss, Delta and Cedaredge
