‘Wilder Bunch’ Trail Crew Internship
Do you want an internship where you work hard and have fun with a team outside, everyday? The “Wilder Bunch” is a trail crew where you will learn how to ride bikes and have fun on trails as well as learn skills in construction and trail building. Crew members will work on trail-related projects in Delta County, including trail construction in Hotchkiss, trail clearing on the Grand Mesa and habitat restoration on the Gunnison River. Crew members will gain outdoor leadership skills, confidence in outdoor sports and learn to push themselves physically all while building the skills and fundamentals needed to have fun on trails. Each week, students will work on outdoor trail construction projects and have the opportunity to ride the trails they build. We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic team members who enjoy working hard- experience with outdoor activities is helpful; but not required.
Location: The Nature Connection, Hotchkiss
Pathways Opportunity: 6 available internship openings
June 1 – July 3rd, but exact dates will be communicated at start of internship
Paid around $350/week , depending time worked and prior experience
Qualifications: Current high school student (recent grads OK); transportation to/from Hotchkiss High School or predetermined location; communication of schedule will be coordinated by trail crew lead at the beginning of the work season.
