2019 Lifeguard & Water Safety Instructor Training

Lifeguard prep classes: Students will take the American Red Cross Lifeguard Training to become
a fully certified lifeguard. Students will learn water safety, leadership, and life-saving skills, with
First Aid, CPR and AED training. The Nature Connection and the GOCO GenWild Grant will pay
50% of training.
Water Safety Instructor classes: Students will take the American Red Cross Water Safety
Instructor course. As you learn to teach swimming lessons, instructors will be eligible to teach
the 3rd grade swimming lessons at the Bill Heddles Rec Center in Delta. Students will learn how
to teach swimming lessons to various age groups. The Nature Connection and the GOCO
GenWild Grant will pay 60% of training.

Qualifications: Lifeguard class 15 or older
